Ortiz makes Jaycee Ten list

Andrew F. Ortiz was recognized as one of the 2008 Ten Outstanding Young Americans.

The United States Junior Chamber (Jaycees) named Andrew F. Ortiz as one of the 2008 Ten Outstanding Young Americans. Ortiz, 39, is president/CEO of Ortiz Leadership Systems, a management consulting and public speaking firm. Ortiz has volunteered more than 1,000 hours of community service every year since 1993. He has founded several organizations: a civil rights group; a youth mentorship program, and a fraternity.

 

Ortiz also has been inducted into the ASU College of Public Program Hall of Fame, and has been honored by the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations, and the Valley of the Sun United Way, among many others. He received the World Medal of Freedom in 2006. He sits or has served on more than a dozen boards, and currently volunteers as a mentor to youth in Guadalupe, Ariz. The U.S. Jaycees have honored Ten Outstanding Young Americans annually since 1938.
